Munyun AI Chat 💬

Munyun's AI chat helps you understand your finances by answering questions in regular conversation. Like, "how much did I spend on food last month?" or "am I spending more this year than last year?"

Where to find it:

Look for the AI tab in your profile's console (same place as Accounts, Transactions, Categories, and Rules).

Important: AI chat only knows about the current profile you're in. If you have multiple profiles, switch to the right one before asking questions.

Quick tips:

Use the suggestions See those pre-written questions in the input box? Those are there to help you get started. Click one and see what happens.

Restart if it gets confused AI remembers your conversation – merchant names, categories, all that. But if you made changes and the AI is still using old info, hit the "Restart" button to clear its memory and start fresh.

Ask follow-up questions

The AI remembers what you just talked about, so you can drill down without repeating yourself.

Example conversation:

• You: "How much did I spend last month?"

• AI: [gives answer]

• You: "How does that compare to last year?"

• AI: [compares without you having to re-explain]

Or: "What about just the food category?" The AI gets it.

Be specific for better answers

The more details you give, the better the answer. Mention:

• Time ranges ("last month," "this year," "January to March")

• Specific categories ("food," "rent," "going out")

• Specific accounts ("my checking account," "credit card")

• Chart types if you want visuals ("show me a bar chart")

Vague questions get vague answers. Specific questions get exactly what you need.
